Brief description of trial (Data source: BASEC)
Patienten mit einer lebensbedrohlichen schweren Erkrankung haben häufig erhebliche emotionale Beschwerden und spirituelle Not, Todesängste, depressive Symptome und Verlust von Würde und Sinn im Leben. Ein wichtiges Ziel am Ende der Lebenszeit ist es die Würde und die Achtsamkeit zu fördern sowie die psychischer Belastungen zu lindern. Die Bedürfnisse des Einzelnen nach Würde und psychologischer Unterstützung am Ende des Lebens kann variieren. Daher ist ein personalisierter Ansatz erforderlich. Auf der Basis theoretischer Rahmenbedingungen, bestehender Würdeförderung sowie bedeutungsbasierten Interventionen, sowie einem Tag Workshop mit internationalen Experten auf dem Gebiet der Palliativmedizin haben wir eine personalisierte modulare Intervention entwickelt, bestehend aus drei Module, der CALM-Therapie, Dignity-Therapie und eine Achtsamkeitsbasierte Intervention.

Patienten, die von der Beratungsstelle für palliative Beratung und Liaison am
Universitätsklinikum Basel als ambulant oder stationär
Leiden an einer lebensbedrohlichen schweren Krankheit mit einer erwarteten Lebenszeit (≤ 18 Monate)
≥ 18 Jahre alt
- Bereitschaft und Fähigkeit, sich zu drei Studienbesuchen zu verpflichten
Exclusion criteria

Delirious (ICD-10: F05.9)
- kognitiv beeinträchtigt
- Zu schlecht, um die Anforderungen des Protokolls zu erfüllen
- Unfähig, Deutsch zu verstehen, zu sprechen und zu lesen
Inclusion/Exclusion Criteria

Inclusion Criteria:
- Informed Consent as documented by signature
- Patients in palliative situation (i.e. patients suffering from an advanced, incurable,
life-limiting disease with multimodal support needs)
- Estimated life expectancy = 18 months
- Patients seen by the palliative consultation-liaison service at the University
Hospital Basel as an in- or outpatient
- Willingness and capacity to commit at least three contacts over about 7-10 days
Exclusion Criteria:
- Being delirious or otherwise substantially cognitively impaired (based on clinical
consensus)
- Being too ill to complete the requirements of the study protocol
- Unable to understand and speak German
