Brief description of trial (Data source: BASEC)
In dieser Studie der psychiatrischen Klinik Solothurn, wird die Wirksamkeit und die Verträglichkeit der medikamentösen Depressionstherapie in drei Gruppen bei stationären Patienten untersucht.
In der Interventions-Gruppe wählt und dosiert der Arzt das Medikament gegen die Depression auf Grundlage einer Apotheker-geleiteten pharmakogenetischen Untersuchung. In der Standard-Gruppe wird gemäss dem heute üblichen Vorgehen das Medikament gegen die Depression ohne die Unterstützung von genetischen Untersuchungen vom Arzt ausgewählt und dosiert. Sollte nach der ersten Woche, nach Ermessen des behandelnden Arztes, keine Einstellung auf ein neues Antidepressivum nötig sein, wird der Verlauf dieser Patienten bis zu ihrem Austritt in einer Beobachtungsgruppe verfolgt (Observations-Arm).
Die verwendeten Medikamente sind alle in der Schweiz zur Behandlung von Depressionen zugelassen. Alle Studienteilnehmer werden für mindestens fünf Wochen stationär untersucht und bis zu ihrem Austritt aus der Klinik beobachtet.
Die Einteilung in die Interventions- (Gruppe A) oder die Standard-Gruppe (Gruppe B) erfolgt zufällig (im Verhältnis 1:1) nach der ersten Woche des stationären Aufenthalts, sofern der behandelnde Arzt eine Umstellung oder Neueinstellung auf ein Antidepressivum für notwendig erachtet. Gesamthaft möchten wir je 95 Patienten in die beiden Studiengruppen A und B einschliessen und untersuchen.

- Diagnosis unipolar moderate or severe depressive episode or recurrent depressive
disorder (ICD10: F32.1/32.2/33.1/33.2)
- HAM-D17 = 17
Exclusion Criteria:
- Acute suicide risk
- Psychotic symptomatology
- Other acute serious psychiatric disorder other than depression
- Excessive consumption of alcohol and/or drugs
- Severe acute - or severe chronic somatic diseases
- Pregnant / lactating women
- Under current treatment with fluoxetine
