Rücken- und Nackenschmerzen sind weltweit zwei Hauptursachen für eine eingeschränkte Lebensqualität. Auch in der Schweiz kosten Rückenschmerzen jährlich Milliarden. Rückenschmerzen nehmen ihren Anfang in der Jugend, und die Prävalenz steigt im Alter von 12 – 15 massiv an und erreicht den Prävalenzwert von Erwachsenen im Alter von 18 Jahren. Rückenschmerzen in der Adoleszenz vervierfachen das Risiko von Rückenschmerzen im Erwachsenenalter.
Um die Entstehung von Rückenschmerzen in der Adoleszenz untersuchen zu können, sind standardisierte Messinstrumente nötig. Vor zwei Jahren wurde in Dänemark dazu der Young Spine Questionnaire (YSQ) entwickelt – ein Fragebogen, um Rücken- und Nackenschmerzen bei Jugendlichen zu erfassen. Für bisherige Studien in der Schweiz wurde parallel dazu ein ähnlicher Fragebogen erarbeitet, der sich aber in einigen wichtigen Punkten vom YSQ unterscheidet und noch nicht getestet wurde. Mit dem Einverständnis der Originalautoren wurde der YSQ gemäss wissenschaftlichen Kriterien in die deutsche Sprache übersetzt (G-YSQ). Diese Übersetzung soll nun untersucht werden. Im Weiteren sollen Schüler/Schülerinnen und jugendliche PatientInnen während eines Jahres nach allfälligen Rücken- und Nackenschmerzen und deren Verlauf befragt werden.

We are planning to expand the recruitment of patients to the cantons BS and BL and probably also to other cantons. Dr. Rosenberger from KEK advised us via email to submit an amendment and 1) to make the request that the study is still treated as “monozentrisch” and 2) to ask for permission for all cantons of Switzerland., Zurich
